Book Review #3: This Girl by Colleen Hoover

Memorable. worth remembering or easily remembered; noteworthy; impressive, celebrated.

Synopsis

Layken and Will’s love has managed to withstand the toughest of circumstances and the young lovers, now married, are beginning to feel safe and secure in their union. As much as Layken relishes their new life together, she finds herself wanting to know everything there is to know about her husband, even though Will makes it clear he prefers to keep the painful memories of the past where they belong. Still, he can’t resist his wife’s pleas and so he begins to untangle his side of the story, revealing for the first time his most intimate feelings and thoughts, retelling both the good and bad moments, and sharing a few shocking confessions of his own from the time when they first met.

In This Girl, Will tells the story of their complicated relationship from his point of view. Their future rests on how well they deal with the past in this final installment of the beloved Slammed series.

Speechless. Breathtaking. Sweet. Overwhelming. Butterflying beautiful ending. :') You're the final piece. This was the last words came out from my mouth after reading This Girl. Seriously, my favorite ever in Slammed Series. It was like I'm in the story, Will and Layken's world when Will tell his past, the first sight he met her and now. Tears all over... Will's past was awful and how he handled his parent's death and his brother make me respect him even more even though he is a fictional character. *sigh* Once again, I really REALLY love this book because I totally can't expect what will be Will's point of view in Slammed. Will is seriously *swoon*

This book tells us what happened in Slammed but this time, we understand in Will's perspective. How human beings do make mistakes in terms of love, family and friends. Everybody is not perfect same goes to Will and Layken's story. He just a human being who wants to feel love but fate has their own plan for them. It just take a little bump to be together~ Thanks Colleen Hoover for creating Will. :') I heart him.

This Girl starts with Will and Layken's honeymoon. During that week, Layken wants to know her husband's past even though Will prefers his painful past to be kept. How the writing flows from past, present and future is the reason this book makes it more special. I love how the author writes each chapter starts with present and past that tells moments, subsequently with the same concept in another chapter. It makes special for each chapter each moment/story and not easily confused with the story. Worth remembering~

"And maybe I'll work out
A way to make it back some day
Towards you, to guide you
Through the darkest of your days"
- Wherever You Will Go, Charlene Soraia

Will and Layken will always in my heart, one of my favorite couple so far. My favorite scene in this book was the epilogue. That last scene was gutted, lovely and complete. *happy* I will miss Will's poems, Layken's pouting, their bantering and romantic scenes, Will's maturity, Kel, Caulder, Gavin and Eddie. Will miss this series~ :'( I will follow Colleen Hoover's book news. I like her books, her writing, her characters and many more. :) Can't wait to read Hopeless.

Dear Will and Layken,

Thank you guys. Love you. I hope I always remember your love story in my mind. Thanks Colleen Hoover. xoxo

Love, IRY.

End note: Every moment in your life is precious. To remember is just take a stroll down memory lane. "Cherish those who you have in your life because you never know when they won't be around anymore." ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆
